Five writer.s. Decades of camp history. One very familiar world

More than 40 years ago, Dani, Peter, Robin and Emily went to camp together, That shared history- the traditions, friendships, inside jokes, and absurdities they still remember back when they were campers and now as parents of campers became part of the DNA of Cool at Camp.

To bring the story to life and give it the humor it deserved, Dani turned to Steven Blutig, lifetime camper and creator of the Daily Camp News - a satirical online publication of fictional articles, outrageous headlines, and inside jokes that mimic Northeast camp culture.

Dani Tapper

A lifelong camper, songwriter and musical theater creator, Dani is an award winning children’s songwriter who has produced three children’s albums. Cool at Camp is her third original musical; her previous musical, Brilliant, was presented in New York as part of the 2021 Broadway Bound Theatre Festival.

Robin Raskin

Robin is a writer and storyteller based outside Philadelphia who spent more than two decades producing events for non profit organizations. a lifelong lover of camp, she returned to camp this summer - this time as a staff member. Her writing has appeared in publications including Philadelphia Magazine, and she believes deeply in the power of words to connect people.

Steven Blutig

Steven is a lifelong camp obsessive and creator of the Daily Camp News, a blog chronicling the absurdities of sleep away camp and the parents who send their kids there. A software consultant by day, he still dreams about camp every few weeks

Peter Weidman

An accomplished musician and lifelong songwriter, Peter has been writing catchy melodies and tasteless lyrics since his teens. cool at Camp brings together his love of music and his lifelong connection to summer camp . When not making music, Peter practices law, chases seven young grandchildren, and enjoys a good single malt scotch.

Emily Stumer

Emily is an overnight camp kid turned teacher of 20+ years, with a bonus career in cannabis. When she’s not working she is watching Schitt’s Creek, planning adventures she can’t afford, or driving her convertible while Broadway, Taylor Swift, and the Grateful Dead compete for air time. With her twins now off to college, she’s ready for more cretive adventures.
